A quick look at the major economic and policy events scheduled in the week ahead. Domestically we’ll hear from RBA Deputy Governor Philip Lowe on Tuesday evening with Q3 construction and capex data scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday respectively. In the US we get a raft of major economic releases squeezed into what is a holiday-shortened week with GDP, durable goods orders, building permits and personal consumption and expenditures likely to garner most attention. In Europe, November’s flash inflation print on Friday will likely be influential. Last but not least, the Swiss gold referendum will be held on Sunday 30 November. Should it get up it may have major ramifications on both spot gold and the EURCHF.
